Board of Directors

These dedicated volunteers are exerting their fullest practical effort for a freer world.

Carla Gericke

Carla Gericke

Carla was born in South Africa and immigrated to California in 1996, after winning a green card in the lottery. She is a “recovering attorney” who practiced law as in-house counsel at Fortune 500 companies in Silicon Valley before redirecting her efforts to liberty activism and writing. In 2008, Carla moved with her husband, former FSP board member Louis Calitz, and their dog, Nellie, from New York City to New Hampshire. More than 15 people showed up during a Nor’easter blizzard to help unload their truck. In 2009 and 2010, Carla organized the Porcupine Freedom Festival, which grew significantly during this period. She enjoys cooking, yoga, hiking, and keeping public officials accountable. She won a groundbreaking First Circuit Court of Appeals case affirming the right to film police officers during a traffic stop. Carla served as president of the Free State Project from March 2011 to March 1, 2016. She is now serving as chairwoman of the board.

Jeremy Kauffman

Jeremy Kauffman

Jeremy discovered the ideas of voluntarism gradually, but would credit Friedman and Huemer as making the strongest cases. Jeremy is the founder and CEO of LBRY.io, a New Hampshire-based blockchain company that produces and maintains a decentralized content sharing and publishing protocol. He moved to New Hampshire in 2015 with his partner Rachel Goldsmith, who is a former executive director of the FSP. They live with their sons in East Manchester. He is currently acting executive director of FSP.
Mark Warden

Mark Warden

Mark Warden is the founder and owner/broker of Porcupine Real Estate, a boutique firm dedicated to helping Free State Project participants and other pro-liberty folks move to New Hampshire and find investment and housing options that fit their needs. Mark is also involved in politics, having served four terms in the NH legislature and in director positions on the boards of Get Involved PAC and New Hampshire Liberty Alliance. Mark was an early mover with Free State Project (one of the first 500 pioneers) and is a long-time financial supporter of the organization. As an early adopter and user of cryptocurrency, Mark was the first state legislative candidate in the country to accept crypto contributions (2012) and the first broker in New Hampshire to complete the sale of a residential property for bitcoin (2017).
Carolann McVeigh Fenton

Carolann McVeigh Fenton

The newest addition to the board, Carolann lives in the seacoast region with her family. She is COO of Chainstone Labs, Project Manager at Watchdog Capital, and co-host of
Satoshi Roundtable, an exclusive networking event for blockchain world industry leaders.
Seamus Casey

Seamus Casey

Seamus is an accomplished software engineer who originally moved to New Hampshire for the thriving tech sector, but soon discovered the added bonus of the “Live Free Or Die” state; that the people and life were/are far different to Massachusetts. Back in 2012, Seamus worked with Ron Paul’s Campaign for Liberty, developing a deep interest in hands-on activism and the tools needed to make activists more effective. He volunteered with the New Hampshire Liberty Alliance (NHLA), launching a cutting-edge app, GenCourtMobile, used daily by NH liberty activists and legislators. This effort earned him the NHLA’s 2016 Activist of the Year award (and later their 2020 Liberty Vanguard award). Seamus continued to build on these successes by getting involved with the Strafford County Republican Committee, where he now serves as Chairman, thus also serving on the Executive Board of the NHGOP.  Seamus has also been a longtime volunteer for Get Involved PAC, serves as the NH Chairman for the American Kratom Association’s Kratom Consumer Council, and has led multiple legislative efforts to defend kratom freedom in NH. While Seamus did not originally move for the Free State Project, once he learned of our mission, he chose to stay and fight for Liberty in Our Lifetime. Seamus joined the Free State Project board in October, 2020.

Greg Moore

Greg Moore

Greg formerly served as NH house of representatives Chief of Staff and NH DHHS Director. He is New Hampshire State Director for Americans for Prosperity.
