The Free State Project is pleased to announce that Jeremy Kauffman is joining its Board of Directors. Kauffman is the founder and CEO of LBRY.io, a New Hampshire-based blockchain company that produces and maintains a decentralized content sharing and publishing platform. He moved to New Hampshire in 2015 with his partner Rachel Goldsmith, who is Executive Director of the FSP. They live with their son in East Manchester.
Prior to founding LBRY, Kauffman founded TopScore, a startup that processes millions of dollars monthly in event and activity registrations. He is a passionate advocate of decentralized technology and freedom of information.
“Libertarians deserve a homeland,” says Kauffman, “just as all people do. The Free State Project is the most promising and successful endeavor to achieve this.”
“Jeremy brings management expertise, technological savvy, and financial support to the FSP,” says current Board chair Jason Sorens. “We couldn’t be more pleased to have someone of his stature backing the most exciting freedom movement in the country.”
Good evening. My name is Alex Oakes and I am a senior at Arizona State University preparing to attain my Masters in International Politics from the Catholic University of Leuven next year under the Fulbright Scholarship Program. I am also a Marine Corps veteran with multiple combat deployments to the middle east as both an 0331(Machine Gunner) and patrol leader in a human intelligence team. I began to work on my masters thesis earlier this year and have realized I want it to become a book about how we use communication to manipulate one another based off my studies, various illegal businesses in high school while being parented by cult level southern Baptists, and my experiences working overseas in Iraq, Syria, and Kurdistan. My goal is to essentially utilize a reverse Hegelian Dialect to address the top political issues. I would like my project to be 50% written and refined work and 50% interviews. I want to go a slightly different path than the traditional author in order to resonate with my generation more fully. I do not have big plans or delusions of grandeur in regards to this project. That being said, after experiencing your work, I recognize the influence it has had on me and the value of it for my generation. I can offer you nothing in return. I am a broke student currently. However, if you would do me the honor of a 10-15 minute interview over zoom or skype at some point in the future, at your convenience, it would greatly enhance my ability to refine my thesis. Thank you and if I do not hear from you I still support you and recognize your value to the human experience.
