Last year, during a clear-headed moment, I asked myself one of those turning-point questions: “What do you want to do with your life?” The answer came to me immediately: “Do more to achieve ‘Liberty in Your Lifetime'”.
Like thousands of other supporters, I’ve contributed money and time to the Free State Project before – I’ve done so for over 10 years. So, what caused that aforementioned clear-headed moment and re-commitment?
The triggering
One day, I went to the home page of the Free State Project’s website and was reminded of how many Free Staters live in New Hampshire. Instantly, I realized two things:
1. Free Staters living in New Hampshire continue to make a positive impact. They understand the philosophy of liberty, have applied what they’ve learned, and have accomplished many real world activism victories.
Free Staters aren’t like the giant number of libertarians who live in the comments sections of social media. Instead of merely talking about liberty, they became a part of the world’s only intentional pro-liberty community.
2. On the other hand, I thought of how long it’s taken the Free State community to get to where it is today. The FSP’s founder, Jason Sorens, studied the history of political movements and made his educated calculation. The result was not a goal of 4,400 Free Staters – the current approximate count – in a low population US state that has an existing pro-freedom culture. The goal has always been 20,000.
I can’t just passively watch the Free State Project crawl to 20,000.
To put it bluntly, there’s more sand in the bottom of my hourglass than in the top. I want to see the real impact of what 20,000 libertarian activists can do in real life. Whether you live in NH or not, I don’t want you to miss out on that experience, either.
Together, let’s make the beacon of liberty shine as brightly as possible, as quickly as possible. Let’s make the Free State Project a household name.
Plan on seeing ‘Liberty in Your Lifetime’
It doesn’t matter if you ever plan on moving to New Hampshire or not. The real question is:
Would you like to ever have a conversation about liberty, be able to point to the closest real-world example of a free society, and inspire others?
If so, more people need to hear about the Free State Project.
Thanks to our new promotional efforts, supporters now hold the option of having 100% of their contributions directed exclusively to promoting the Free State Project to the masses of the liberty movement. None of your contribution will go to salaries, event costs, or anything else.
I don’t know about you, but I’m going to continue to work hard and promote the Free State Project because…
I want ‘Liberty in My Lifetime’,
not in my grandkid’s lifetimes.
And I don’t have any kids.
Now is the time. Today is the day. Show your support by contributing to our efforts.
